Suji Pav Recipe – A Perfect Evening Snack

No egg suji pav recipe | veg suji bomb recipe | no maida pizza pav recipe

Hi friends!

If you don’t like eating maida then this recipe is for you. I have made this yummy suji pav recipe with milk. This is stuffed with vegetables, schezwan sauce and cheese. So, this is a no egg recipe. I have used processed cheese for better taste, you can also use the pizza cheese i.e. mozzarella cheese in your own suji pizza pav recipe.

The suji buns look similar to normal bread buns from outside but inside it has the pizza flavour. I have given it a modified pizza version which can be a perfect evening snack for your guests. Even you can safely offer it to your children too. They will finish the plate super quick, and, you don’t need to worry about their digestive system!

Suji is healthy. I have stuffed it with corns, capsicum and onions. You can use any of your favourite vegetables too. And cheese is good fat! I have prepared the dough using milk for the good colour of the buns. You can use water in your own stuffed suji buns recipe. Finally, I have served it by sprinkling some mixed pizza spices on the pavs and topped them with black olive slices.

So, my suji pav recipe is a perfect combination of uniqueness, taste and look.

Ingredients

Preparing the suji buns -

  • Suji/ rava – 1 cup (ground to a fine powder)
  • Oregano – ¼ tsp
  • Dry ginger powder – ¼ tsp
  • Sugar – 1tbsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Instant dry yeast – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Warm milk – ½ cup (the temperature of the milk should remain around 40° C)

Preparing the filling of the buns –

  • Capsicum – 1 medium sized & chopped
  • Corn – ¼ cup
  • Onion – 1 medium-sized & chopped
  • Olives – a few for garnishing
  • Schezwan sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Processed cheese – 2 cubes (else use mozzarella cheese)

For the mixed spices –

  • Oregano – ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
  • Peri peri masala – ¼ tsp
  • Pizza seasoning – ¼ tsp

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and put everything inside it (doesn’t put salt directly on the yeast, they will die!). Mix everything well. Knead well with a hand for 5 minutes until you get a soft dough. Let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place. I have covered it with a plastic wrap so that warmth should be maintained around the dough inside the bowl.
  2. Prepare the filling by taking all vegetables in a bowl and mix with schezwan sauce. The filling is ready.
  3. Preheat your oven for 10 minutes at 210° C.
  4. Take all the spices in a small bowl. Separate 1 teaspoon of it for later use.
  5. After 1 hour, the dough is ready. Take it out of the bowl and make four balls out of it.
  6. Take one ball and gently spread it on the table. Now stuff it with the prepared filling and close gently using your fingers. Don’t leave any holes on the dough. Proper closing is important to avoid spilling of the cheese while baking.
  7. Prepare all the four balls in a similar way.
  8. Take a baking tray and put parchment paper on it. Grease it with butter.
  9. Put the four suji buns on it for baking. Brush butter on each of them (be generous!).
  10. Bake it for 20 minutes.
  11. Delicious suji buns are ready!
  12. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup. Enjoy!
